As a result of winning Miss Sri Lanka in 2006 Padukone was able to begin her work on television. She hosted the show Lanka Business Report which focused on Sri Lankan Business. Padukone is the daughter of tennis star Prakash Padukone. She was raised in Bangalore and was born in Copenhagen. She played badminton at the national championships when she was an teen, but she gave up her sport career to become a model. Padukone's native language is Konkani. The model is Mangalorean in her origins. Padukone is a village located within the Kundapura Taluk located in Udupi located in Karnataka State in India is where her ancestry originates. Prakash Padukone is her father and a former badminton star who has international acclaim. Her mother is an agent for travel.
