Jacqueline Fernandez grew up in Bahrain, Manama. She is Sri Lankan and comes from an ethnically diverse background. The father of Jacqueline's Elroy Fernandez hails of Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is a Malaysian. She has two brothers and an older sister. It was because of the civil war in Sri Lanka that her parents decided to move to Bahrain. She received a scholarship to study at the University of Sydney in Sydney Australia, after completing her education in Bahrain. The love of different cultures and languages inspired her to enroll in the Berlitz language school where she mastered French and Arabic as she learned Spanish. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March 2006 and she competed as Miss Universe 2006 also. In 2006, she was awarded she won the Miss Sri Lanka title. Following that, she stepped into television to host an interview show on Sri Lankan business called Lanka Business Report. Padukone (the daughter of badminton player Prakash Padukone) was born and grew up in Bangalore. When she was a teen, Padukone was a participant in numerous championships for national badminton. She eventually gave up playing when she made the decision to pursue a career as a professional model. Padukone was born in Mangalore in India. Her mother tongue Konkani is her origin. Her family ancestors are from the village Padukone in Kundapura Taluk, in the Udupi district of Karnataka state of India. Prakash Padukone is her father as well as a former badminton pro who has international acclaim. Her mother works as an agent for travel.
