Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress who hails from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic home. Jacqueline Fernandez's mother Kim and her father Elroy are both Malaysians. She has two younger brothers and one older sister. Due to unrest in Lanka, her parents were forced to relocate to Bahrain in the early 1980s. After completing school in Bahrain she won the Scholarship to the University of Sydney to pursue an Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. The love of the languages and culture led her to join the Berlitz language school where she improved her French as well as Arabic in addition to learning Spanish. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March of 2006, and later competed as Miss Universe 2006 also. The TV show she appeared on was founded after winning the Miss Sri Lanka title. The show she hosts, Lanka Business Report, is about Sri Lankan business. Padukone, the daughter of the badminton player Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and raised in Bangalore. Padukone played in the national championships when she was young teenagers, however she decided to give her sporting career in order to pursue a career as a model. Padukone is born in Mangalorean heritage and her native language is Konkani. Her ancestors hail from the village of Padukone within the Kundapura Taluk, in the Udupi district in Karnataka state in India. The father of her, Prakash Padukone, is a retired badminton player of global repute. Her mother works as a travel agent.
